How to Begin Beekeeping

Get off to a solid start — learn the basics with a Master Beekeeper

This comprehensive four-day class covers everything you need to know to begin your beekeeping journey. The extended format allows ample time to absorb each topic and ask questions, ensuring you feel confident before starting your own hive. You’ll learn how to set up an apiary, what equipment is needed, honey bee biology, what’s going on inside the hive, Varroa mites/other hive pests and beekeeping throughout the year. Field Day is the fourth day of class and will be held Saturday, April 4, weather dependent. The class address and handout will be emailed on Wednesday, March 4th.
